✨Visioning a New Normal

"I've been drinking every day and really notice how self-aware & considerate of other people it's making me." 🍺

"I drank last night and woke up feeling better than ever!" 🍹

"Drinking makes me more aware of my surroundings and desiring to care for the earth - I'm taking better care of my home & am way more organized." 🍸

"Alcohol makes me feel peaceful and appreciative." 🍻

"I make better life decisions when I'm drinking regularly." 🍷

"Alcohol has been the catalyst for other self-care in my life: exercising, going to bed early, learning new things, healthy nutrition and loving relationships."

...said exactly NO ONE EVER. 😆

Conditioning is interesting, isn't it? The statements above are commonly shared by participants practicing with natural plant & earth medicines 🌱 within our microdosing community - substituting 'alcohol' reveals the absurdity of our cultural conditioning.

Don't get me wrong: I love a beautiful glass of pinot noir. But let's be honest when we're assessing lifestyle practices & their net effects on society. ✨

Although we've thoroughly normalized the use of alcohol, it does very little overall to contribute positively to our lives, health and relationships. We don't insist on its scientific validation or question its safety, restrict its marketing or argue who gets permission to drink, and where. We don't fret about the negative social impact of having alcohol cheaply & widely available, or strive to justify its place in society. Yet we do all of these things to Nature. 🌎

👉🏽All of us live within the cultural narratives we grew up within👈🏽, but when we step outside those narratives - hold them up to the light and give them a twist - we see them more clearly for what they are: stories worth re-imagining. As we step into a brand new year and begin visioning a healthier future, may we be open to creating the new normal and sharing a different story.

🙏🏽California Friends, please support the statewide decriminalization bill - SB 58 - in 2023, decriminalizing plant & earth medicines for personal, spiritual and therapeutic use.
